The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a 4-year college located on the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal in Massachusetts. The Academy is well known in the region for its programs in Facilities Management, Energy Systems Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Safety & Environmental Protection, and much more.

24 Apricus AP-30 solar collectors were installed on the Alumni Gymnasium in September of 2015. The gymnasium holds a 20,000 gallon pool for training activities and athletics. The system was designed & built by RES Solar of Scituate, MA.

This solar hot water system consists of two separate arrays. The ﬁrst is made up of 35 Apicus AP-30 Collectors and provides hot water for the De Neve Hall Dormitories. The second is a series of 30 Apricus AP-30 Collectors and serves the dormitory’s kitchen. Each of these arrays feed a hot water storage tank that is located on the same level as the collectors. This preheated hot water is then fed to the boiler tank for ﬁnal heating and distribution.
