USA Sales Positions

Position: Sales Representative

Location: Greater Bay Area, CA. (strong candidates throughout California considered)

Compensation: Base Salary + Bonus/Commission, 401k

Position Outline

Apricus is accepting applications for Sales Representatives to join our west coast sales effort to provide fully engineered solar hot water solutions to commercial businesses.  The role would include the full sales cycle from lead generation through to project sale and after sales follow up.  Successful sales are built on the foundation of strong understanding of the customers needs and establishing a trusting relationship, so excellent people skills and likeable personality are essential.

Role involves mixture of inside/outside sales activity and depending on experience home office may be accepted.

Apricus has had a physical presence and staff in the North American market since 2007 and has developed strong brand recognition and a positive reputation in the solar thermal market.   The Apricus evacuated tube solar collector is one of the most reliable and high performing on the market, with a clear set of competitive advantages.  As the manufacturer, Apricus has the ability to offer a fully vertically integrated solution to the commercial market.

Essential Duties

  • Identify and actively develop potential commercial project customers.
  • Coordinate with customer facility manager, engineers and the Apricus engineering team.
  • Preparation and presentation of sales proposal to business owners.
  • Basic solar hot water system sizing and design in line with customers requirements.
  • Audit of sites to determine solar suitability, existing equipment and suitable product offering.
  • Maintain accurate recording of lead generation, potential projects and pipeline reporting.

 

Position Requirements

  • 2 years + sales experience including cold calling, market research and face to face interactions with prospective customers.
  • Specific commercial market knowledge/contacts in industries with high hot water usage of benefit.
  • Background knowledge in plumbing, HVAC or mechanical engineering very advantageous.
  • Position requires high energy levels, enthusiasm and motivation to succeed.
  • Ability to operate in high paced, strongly driven company culture.
  • Excellent communication skills over the phone, though email and in person, including sales pitch presentations in front of business owners.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise activities and promptly follow up.
  • Ability to travel regularly to visit prospective customers (~75% inside, 25% outside sales activity).
  • Willingness to work as part of small “start-up” style team, requiring completion of wide range of tasks related to the role and the sales process as a whole.
