Apricus purchases 23330m2 of land

Apricus has just secured 23330m2 of land, only minutes from the current factory location, in Nanjing Pukou New & High Tech Development Zone. Design of the first phase of the new factory is already underway with construction set to start in early Oct. The inital phase will consist of offices, canteen, dormitory for workers, and about 5000-7000m2 of factory space. This will allow for a production volume of up to 30,000 collectors (30tube) per annuam.

Roof space will be used for a large scale solar collector installation with the heat provided used for hot water production, space heating for the offices and factory, and absorption chiller cooling in the summer.

The land provides the ability to expand with 2nd and 3rd contruction phases to provide up to 22000m2 of factory space, enough for a production output of more than 100,000 collectors per annum (>400,000m2 gross collector area).

Wall Street Journal Article Features Apricus!

After an interview by Shanghai based Journalist JAMES T. AREDDY for the Wall Street Journal in Feb of this year, an article titled "Heat for the Tubs of China" was published in the Wall Street Journal. This article has created a enormous amount of interest in Apricus. Below are a couple of excerpts.

Michael Humphreys, co-owner of Apricus Solar Co., based in the Chinese city of Nanjing, sees an "extremely big change" in U.S. demand. He shipped nearly four times as many containers of equipment to the U.S. last year than in 2004, and business may triple this year, he says.

Apricus, a closely held Sino-Australian joint venture, is one of only two China-based companies that produce solar-thermal equipment eligible for the U.S. tax credits, according to the Florida-based Solar Rating & Certification Corp.

Apricus is in the process of expanding sales in the US market, and is actively seeking professional companies/individuals to become Distributor, Dealers and Installers.
