Apricus passes new Solarkeymark heat pipe freeze resistance test

Apricus heat pipes used in Apricus evacuated tubes solar collectors have passed the new heat pipe freeze resistant testing that is now part of the European Solarkeymark test standard for solar thermal collectors (that use heat pipes).

Testing was completed by TUV test labs in accordance with the SKN_N0106_AnnexF_R0 testing standard

The test involves 20 cycles of -20oC / -4oF freezing (>30minutes) and +10oC / 50oF thawing (>30minutes).

Extensives research has been completed to ensure that the heat pipes not only resist freezing conditions but also provide the high level of heat transfer and long term reliability that is essential for a solar thermal collector.
